Verizon Wireless customers can use their mobile phones to help with earthquake relief. Text HAITI to 90999 to give $10 to the American Red Cross. 100 percent of the donation will go to the Red Cross, and there is no charge for donation text messages.

Since the disaster in Haiti occurred on Jan. 12, millions of dollars have been donated using this new kind of charitable giving. Verizon Wireless has already advanced millions of dollars pledged by its customers to the Red Cross to help immediately.

Donations should come from your personal wireless phone. Corporate liable accounts should check with your companies before donating.

In order to donate, customers who have blocked premium or other messaging on their accounts must remove those blocks, and can visit myverizon.com to do so. Please remember to add the messaging block back to your account if you wish to continue using that feature after you donate.
