Verizon Wireless Enhances Digital Service in Blair County, Pennsylvania
PITTSBURGH, PA — Verizon Wireless, the nation’s leading wireless service provider, today announced improvements at dozens of cell sites in Pennsylvania during the final quarter of 2003 and January 2004, improving coverage and capacity along some of the state’s busiest roadways as well as in rural areas.
Enhancements at the Lock Mountain cell site in eastern Blair County will improve Verizon Wireless coverage along routes 22, 36 and 866 as well as in Altoona, Royer, Clappertown, Williamsburg and Shellytown.
“Verizon Wireless is committed to providing our customers with the best network,” said Roger Tang, president – Ohio/Pennsylvania Region, Verizon Wireless. “We understand our customers expect that when they press ‘send’ on their wireless phones, their calls will go through, sound clear and stay connected for the duration of their conversation. That’s why, across the state in 2003, we spent $187 million on our network in Pennsylvania. In 2004, our network remains our top priority.”
Verizon Wireless has invested more than $12 billion over the past three years in its national network, offering customers access to the most extensive and reliable wireless voice and data network in the United States.
