J.D. Power And Associates Ranks Verizon Wireless Tops In Call Quality In Four Regions
Nationís Largest Wireless Company Ranks Highest in Four Regions in Nationwide Study
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — When it comes to call quality, wireless users in four regions rate Verizon Wireless at the top, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2010 Wireless Call Quality Performance Study(SM), Volume 2, issued today.
Verizon Wireless scored consistently higher than the industry average in key categories and ranked higher than any other carrier in three regions that cover 29 states and the District of Columbia:
Verizon Wireless ranked highest in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions for the 12th consecutive time.
“Customers rely on the Verizon Wireless network to bring their devices to life, to stay connected and to experience the cutting edge of wireless capabilities,” said Tony Melone, senior vice president and chief technical officer of Verizon Wireless. “We invest heavily in our network to ensure that we anticipate customers’ needs today and in the future and continue to provide our customers with the nation’s largest and most reliable wireless network.”
The J.D. Power and Associates study measures call quality among the major U.S. wireless service providers in six regions based on factors that impact overall carrier performance. More than 26,595 wireless phone subscribers were surveyed by J.D. Power and Associates between January and June 2010 about their experiences with dropped calls, static/interference, failed connection on the first try, voice distortion, echoes, no immediate voice mail notification, and no immediate text message notification.
Verizon Wireless’ Reliable Network*
Verizon Wireless has the largest and most reliable 3G data network coverage area in the United States. Verizon Wireless offers its customers the ability to browse the Web, download and play music, watch streaming video, send e-mails with attachments, download and play 3D games, video conference with contacts and share files at 3G speeds in more locations than any other carrier.
Each year, Verizon Wireless aggressively invests billions of dollars in its network to stay ahead of the growing demand for the company’s voice and data services. In 2009 alone, Verizon Wireless invested $7 billion in its network to increase coverage and capacity and to add new services.
