1-800-Recycling.com’s “My Recycle List” App Now Available In V CAST Apps From Verizon Wireless
LOS ANGELES, CA — 1-800-Recycling.com, an interactive nationwide company dedicated to simplifying and enhancing the consumer recycling experience, announced that its “My Recycle List” app is now available for download on select smartphones and tablets through V CAST Apps from Verizon Wireless.
My Recycle List is a user-friendly app designed to help anyone, virtually anywhere in the country, participate in the recycling of items they would otherwise throw away.
My Recycle List is the first fully comprehensive “all items, all zip codes” recycling app available for the Android smartphones. 1-800-Recycling’s tool is free (data charges may apply to download) and enables the user to quickly find recycling locations nearby that accept items the user chooses from a menu. The app enables the user to easily organize locations by adding them to a personalized list so the next time they have an item to recycle they can easily return to the location or quickly find a new one.
“Having our My Recycle List tool be available at Verizon’s V CAST store means heightened accessibility for Android users and yet another step forward for our mission to provide information, through 1-800-Recycling.com, to make the recycling process easier for everyone,” said John Shegerian, Chairman and CEO of Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the nation’s leading recycler of electronics and e-waste, and parent company of 1-800-Recycling.com. “Anyone can be a part of the recycling process – whether you are at home or at work. Our site, our phone system and our app are all available, free of charge, to increase accessibility to the recycling process. It used to be a challenge to figure out how and where to recycle unwanted items – now, thanks to the variety of technologies we’ve developed, we are literally bringing simple recycling tools to everywhere that life happens.”
Much like 1-800-Recycling’s website and phone system, the My Recycle List app is designed to take the burden out of doing the right thing with unwanted junk by making it easy to accomplish recycling goals in the fewest amount of trips. The Android app, the 1-800-Recycling.com website and the 1-800-Recycling phone service all direct users to responsible recyclers of electronics, tires, glass, plastic, wood, mattresses, carpet, junk – basically everything that can be recycled.
The My Recycle List app provides customers with information on how to recycle no-longer-used wireless phones through the HopeLine® from Verizon program, which collects wireless phones, batteries and accessories in any condition from any wireless service provider. The phones are then refurbished or recycled in an environmentally sound way.
Since the launch of HopeLine®, more than 8 million wireless phones have been collected, generating more than $10 million that has been given to local agencies since 2001.
1-800-Recycling.com provides users with nationwide outreach to help users find recycling locations nearest to them (every zip code in the country is covered) for whatever it is they wish to recycle.
Now the largest recycler of electronic waste in the world, Fresno-headquartered Electronic Recyclers International is licensed to de-manufacture and recycle televisions, computer monitors, computers, and all types of electronic equipment. ERI processes more than 140 million pounds of electronic waste annually in its six locations in California, Washington, Colorado, Indianapolis, Massachusetts and Texas.
