Capture a Holiday Memory with Time-Lapse Video

Looking for a unique way to capture your holiday memories? Time-lapse video is a fun way to capture the excitement of kids opening presents or decorating the Christmas tree.

Time-lapse video might sound complicated, but with your smartphone in hand, it takes only a few simple steps to record a great memory.

Here’s how:

Click on the camera app on your phone and select video mode. Then, tap the circular time-lapse icon.  Choose the desired time interval then tap record.

When finished, press stop, and your video is ready for viewing and sharing.

The video above was taken over a four-hour period. The smartphone, a Galaxy Nexus, was simply propped up on a table and set to record in 10-second intervals as the Christmas tree was assembled. (Using a smartphone dock or small tripod is another option).

After video was shot, add music to the video using Movie Maker or a similar app.

The time-lapse video feature is available on many Android devices including the Galaxy Nexus and DROID RAZR HD.
