How did you become a test man?
I'm a former Alltel employee. I had been with Alltel for approximately 4 years in other positions - I was in IT for three years then moved into the Product Technology group. In the PT group, we tested handsets and other services in order to see how they worked on our network. We worked closely with marketing in order to make sure what we advertised about our products and services actually happened on the network. Once the merger was announced, I was approached by the Network team to help test the Verizon Wireless network.
What’s the most rewarding part of your day?
When we find areas that can improve the service to our customers.
What do you have in common with the Test Man in the commercials?
We both care greatly about the job we are doing.
Which traits make you a successful test man?
Attention to detail and hard work.
What does "It's the Network" mean to you?
Exactly that. The Verizon Wireless network is the foundation for all we do. Verizon Wireless customers are buying the biggest and best network.
Why does Verizon Wireless need to test the network every day?
We drive everyday to ensure that we do have a superior network. If there are problems in an area we can provide valuable data to get it corrected.
What is the most unique place you have visited to test the Verizon Wireless network? Why is that location so unique?
Bella Vista, Arkansas. I travel the entire state of Arkansas, and to me, this town has the most beautiful scenery and landscape. In the fall the trees are so colorful. It is a great small community that has a lot to offer.
How does Verizon Wireless use the data you collect?
The data we collect assists in making the network better today and planning for the future.
What should consumers know about the Verizon Wireless network?
Customers should know that we want the Verizon Wireless network to be here for them 24/7/365.
What achievement/aspect of your job are you most proud of?
I am really proud to be on a team that provides America with the biggest and best network.
